In Australia the regular season ended this weekend. Canberra United with Lydia Williams and Sally Shippard had an off week but their regular season title was clinched already last week. Open was their opponent. Melbourne was probable, Newcastle could have been possible. Yet Emily van Egmond's and Newcastle Jets' playoff hopes ended in a surprising 2-4 loss against Perth Glory. That way Adelaide Uniteds game with Ashleigh Gunning and Marijana Rajcic against Melbourne Victory turned out to be meaningless. Rajcic scored the opening goal of the game but Melbourne won 4-1 and will now challenge Canberra.
In Italy Bardolino Verona and Maria Karlsson left two points against Verona in a 1-1 draw. By that they almost lost the lead they just captured a week ago. Because of the goals scored they are still on top.
In France ASJ Soyaux expectedly was without chance at Paris St Germain. 0-2 was the final score for Becky Spencer and Fiona O'Sullivan.
