Relegation battle in Germany moves closer

All four teams in the German relegation battle played on Sunday morning. A high CWF density was represented when SC Freiburg met Tennis Borussia Berlin. Kelly Parker and Mele French started for Freiburg, while Katarina Tarr and Amanda Feigt started for Berlin. Michelle Wenino, SC Freiburg, appeared in final 20 minutes.

TB Berlin gave SC Freiburg the lead with an own goal short after half time. A late insurance goal sealed SC Freiburg's 2-0 win, which leaves Berlin at the bottom of the German Bundesliga. With 7 pts down and only five games left to play there is barely any hope for TB Berlin to stay in the top division.

SG Essen-Schönebeck with Emily Zurrer did not have a chance at 1.FFC Frankfurt. 4-0 was the final score  which made Essen's gap to the relegation spots decrease to only two points. In between SC Freiburg and Essen is Saarbrücken which clinched an unexpected point agaisnt Bayern Munich (0-0). This leaves Saarbruken with one point advantage over SC Freiburg.

In 2. Bundesliga South the game between #4 FCR Duisburg II and #3 TSV Crailsheim ended in a 1-1 draw. The American defence Allison Scurich and Jeannette Dyer where back together after Dyer finally recovered from her tonsil surgery.
