Broken hand, goal and efforts in vain - the Germany update

Sunday action in Germany did not deliver satisfying results for the CWF girls:

Best of was SG Essen-Schönebeck with a scoreless draw against Bad Neuenahr. Emily Zurrer played full 90 despite a broken hand suffered last week vs. Frankfurt. She had a good performance with some bad luck when a well timed header hit the cross bar. The score gives Essen a three points gap to the relegation spots but they were hoping for more.

In 2. Bundesliga TSV Crailsheim's two American defenders Allison Scurich and Jeannette Dyer also managed to keep a clean but against FV Löchgau the offence did not manage to score. A disappointing result for Crailsheim created a gap to the top 3 spots.

SC Freiburg played at Bayern Munich and suffered a narrow 1-2 loss with Michelle Wenino and Mele French in the lineup while Kelly Parker was out with injury. Wenino scored the equalizer short before halftime but World Champion Melanie Behringer clinched Bayern's win after an hour.

No chance for Tennis Borussia Berlin at VfL Wolfsburg. A 0-3 loss was suffered by the team from the German capital. After 36 mins all goals were already scored and Berlin did their best to keep the loss in limits. Both Kat Tarr and Amanda Feigt played full 90.

In the Bundesliga standings:

Essen is #9 with 15 pts

Saarbrücken #10 with 13 pts

Freiburg on the first relegation spot with 12 pts

Berlin deep down with 6 pts.
