Offensive player Megan Mischler inks with the Swedish Hammarby IF for the 2012 season. While last year she still was under contract with the Boston Aztec Breakers in the U.S. professional league, the 22-year-old American already came to Sweden in the fall of 2011 to play for Östersund DFF.

Strong addition for Champions League quarter finalist Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC: WPS Rookie of the Year and former Herman trophy winner Christen Press joins the Swedish top team. The forward completed her first season in pro soccer for Magic Jack and immediately was among the five best strikers of the league. After the folding of the league, Press now joins Göteborg and inks a one year deal

After a successful season with Thor/KA in Iceland Manya Makoski had inteded to return to the US pro league WPS and inked a deal with champion Western New York Flash. Since this deal failed after the folding of the league the versatile wing player now will join the Finnish league and inked with Aland United.

Chantel Jones, one of the top prospects of the senior class, has inked a deal with the Icelandic team Thor/KA in Akureyri for the 2012 season. Jones has been on the U20 World Championship winning roster of the USA in 2008 and played for her home nation up to U23 level. She just graduated from the University of Virginia.

Also Soderettan team Mallbackens IF added two American players to strengthen their roster. From WPS site Atlanta Beat goalkeeper Katie Fraine will join the team, which is located in southwest Sweden. For the offense, Tessa Gavilsky inked with Mallbacken. The Stetson graduate finished her first stint overseas in Finland successfully in fall.

Sweden veteran Sarah Elnicky is back to her roots. The versatile defense player spent three years for Kvarnsveden IK prior to joining Haukar in Iceland's division 1. Now Elnicky returns to Sweden and plays for Sirius IK in Norrettan.

The Canadian NT player Christina Julien leaves North America to join Swedish Damallsvenskan club Jitex BK. The forward competed for James Madison University in college, and played W-League for the Laval Comets and Ottawa Fury before. Jitex will be the first European stint for the forward, who recently started to shine more and more for team Canada.
