FURLOT (sorry) for the delayed posts!
We had our first swedish cup game yesterday...won 8-0! I scored the first goal, header off of a corner, right above the keeper's hands. Chelsea also scored...her second day in sweden and her first game, not too shabby if you ask me ;). Saturday is the big day, series premier against Ragsved. Every game from now on is going to be tough, but I think we are ready for the challenge.
Training today was light, recovery practice to shake our legs out after the game...training picks up speed again tomorrow.
Below are some pictures of our sledding adventure on my birthday...enjoy!
Kebabs and candy...i've never seen so many different kinds of candy, nor have i seen so many different kebob shops, but i must say they are ALL mycket bra (very good).
Today is my birthday...I woke up this morning to sunny skies and 10 degrees C, can't get a much better present than that. Going downhill skiing at Romme Alpin today, should be fun! Tomorrow is another holiday in Sweden, last day off for the Easter vacation.
Will post pictures of skiing soon :)
Hej då
Won our game yesterday 3-0!
Coach tried out some different formations and positions to get things settled for our Swedish Cup game next Sunday.
Tacos last night after the game, and birthday celebration tonight!
Easter and Birthday on Sunday...should be interesting to celebrate my 23rd in a foreign country :).
GLAD PÅSK everyone!
Hey all, sorry for the delayed post!
This past Sunday we played Tyreso FF...it was a tough, hard fought game, but we ended up losing 1-0. Their goal came off of a service into the box, and with all the confusion, we were unable to clear it out of the 18. Tyreso had most of the play throughout the match, but we defended very well and only held them to a few dangerous chances. All in all, it was a good test for us, and I think most players and coaches left the game happy with our result.
Tomorrow, we have our last training game against IK Huge, and then the whole weekend off for the Easter holiday :). Not only is it Easter, its also my birthday on Sunday, so hopefully our party planning will be in full effect tonight after practice!!
Other than that, nothing else is really happening...I might be volunteering at a school soon in an English class, but nothing is set in stone just yet.
Below I posted some pictures of our training game...hope you like them!!
Hey readers...just thought I'd say hello before a couple of the girls from the team come over for dinner!
Tomorrow we have a HUGE training game against Tyreso, a top division team based out of Stockholm. Apparently they had a great offseason and brought in some top quality players so we will definitely have a big test on our hands! We leave tomorrow morning around 8 in the morning, and won't get home until late, so the update might not come until Monday morning :).
Other than that, not much is new in Borlange...on Monday me and Darcel (a player from Trinidad) are going to help out at a soccer school, and hopefully, if everything goes well, we can start volunteering there regularly. Chelsea and Sarah arrive in two weeks, so I will FINALLY have some company in my apartment :)...all I can say is they better be ready for some adventure when they get here :)!
For the past two weeks I have been dog-sitting our manager's dog. His name is Valdemort, but everyone calls him Valle...I posted a picture of him below!
As you can see, he's more like a horse rather than a dog, but its been fun having him as company!
Hej da, and wish me luck tomorrow!!
