HOLLER!

March 22 1984....I was born. A voice spoke to me and told me to have a 80s night out. And I did! Sorry for all of those who were out that night while we were looking like this....

Couldn’t have asked for a better night!

For those who don’t know about the "Lisa turtle" dance??....Look it up, I owned that dance all night.

While I was out having a good time, the Boston Breakers were in Florida for preseason. Not going to lie....I missed them a little! It was hard to stay home while my friends left.

KNEE- Is amazing. Starting to change up the exercises a little bit. Good thing I am crazy.....keeps therapy interesting.

Check it out:

My new hobby (I guess you can say) is social networking. I have met some really amazing people just by being weird and putting my self out there and talking to new strangers....I don’t advise this for girls under 18.

Shout out to my new friends: Rumor/Venue (Pedro, Big Dave, Tony), Woburn Toyota (Mike and the boys)

I enjoy trying new things and meeting new faces...If anyone owns a restaurant, sports bar or just anything interesting in Boston...Let me know! I would love to bring the teammates out for a good time.

WEEK 3

To all readers! 3 weeks since my surgery and things are looking Fantastic!! I am a still ahead of schedule and really trucking along. Started doing a lot of new things in therapy. Thank God because some of the exercises are sooo tedious. Therapy can be boring and sometimes it’s hard to get motivated to do the same exercises over and over again, so I made up a game to one of my exercises. Take a look

First day of physical activity was yesterday! I began swimming. Basically the only thing that they are letting me do and I had to beg. Going from working out everyday of your life to sitting on your butt not being able to even walk fast is very frustrating! So a true break through yesterday for me! I swam for an hour at Harvard University! I almost drowned because I was swimming next to some elite swimmers from Harvard and didn’t want to look bad so I went all out! Going all out for an hour….well lets just say I am glad to be alive today. Haha

Rehab is a killer…so from time to time my therapist treats me with massages. They discovered this new type of massaging that is called “cupping”. If you want to know more about it here is a link. http://www.itmonline.org/arts/cupping.htm.

Two videos of me being tortured ……

Basically it feels like your muscle is being ripped through your skin. Why do we put ourselves through this kind of stuff? Things we do for SOCCER LUV! Check out the close up of the most amazing/painful but helpful massage! Looks like a big pimple..EWW

Outside the life of “my knee” things are falling into place. I am now the Den Mother for the Boston Breakers!

I think Kelly Smith and Alex Scott forgot that I once was a player with them bc I am now there personal assistant during training!

We had glamour shots today for the programs and I found out that I am also the team hairstylist! I just put everyone in the JNO look…a side pony! Hahah but I really did do some of the girl’s hair…Liz Bogus one of our Newbies came out with a new hairdo for her everyday look! Who knew I had that talent in me.

Life’s Good and I love being around the girls! Breakers have an awesome team…LOOK OUT

New photos and videos coming up in my next entry of my so called “new social life” and a big surprise!

Day 7!!!!!

One week since I have had ACL Surgery! I honestly feel like its taking forever and its only been a week. I have a long ways to go. The crazy thing is I feel like Im improving in everything so quickly! I think that is the best part about the recovery process at an early stage. You def see progress everyday. Its hard once you start to get muslce and you feel likeyour ready to go and you dont see yourself improving anymore. Thats when you really start to feel anxious. I have a long ways to go until I feel that.

Yesterday during therapy a crazy thing happened. I was doing all my straight leg raises (which you cant do enough of) and I looked down at my stitches to see that I have a huge tumor trying to escape through my stitch. My skin was being stretched as far as it could go because this 3 inch bulge was under my stitch. I started to panic and told my therapist to look at this quickly. The fluid in my knee was trying to release out of my medial stitch. The area was hard and bulging. Immediatly my therapist started to massage the area to release the pressure. I SCREAMED! It was the worst feeling to sit through. It looked awesome but now my relaxing knee massage has turned into a painful screaming session hahah!

BUT Today was a breakthrough for me. I am still in my ginormous brace, but they unlocked it. Now I can at least tempt to walk like a normal human being without draggin my huge leg around. And let me tell you....its much easier getting into the car when my brace allows my knee to bend.

I never noticed how friendly people are here in Boston until I tore my ACL. I cant go anywhere without somebody commenting on my knee and how horrible that looks, or trying to crack a joke like......Your knee must be bothering you hahahahah not really that funny! lol. Today I was in Walgreens and as soon as I walked in and made contact with this random customer she blerts out "Dont tell me your on the basketball team". HAHAHAHAH I was like no I hurt myself playing soccer. Then of course I had to go into what I did and all of that but I got to thinking. How random was that comment and what basketball team is this lady talking about??? Good thing out of this intriguing lady the Boston Breakers has a new fan! :) Just too funny.

Overall my knee feels amazing today! Day 7. I get my stitches out next Tuesday and really hoping the Dr says I can start swimming. My body is craving exercise!
